Since last posting, I've put finishing touches on a commission portrait and delivered same. I had a hectic, wonderful
experience being the guest artist at a party in St. Francisville, patterned after the "cork & canvas" affairs.
We did a simple landscape, which I complicated by showing them examples of four different color palettes - traditional - earthy
- complimentary - monochromatic. The ladies did an amazing job. I hope to post some photos at a later date.
I am planning my first two-day workshop for this next week, with request to hold a couple of others. I am in discussions
on another portrait commission as well as a large commission landscape. I'm hoping to be working at the studio in Jackson
the week of the 17th, so stop by to see me if you are in the area.

I hope the viewer finds a measure of the joy I feel while creating
a painting. Every work is a challenge and a learning experience. When I am frustrated with a painting, all I have
to do is find the fellowship of other artist or read the thoughts of the masters to understand that I am not alone, that every
artist follows the same path. Different grades and curves and side paths, but we all share the common desire to create
and communicate through our creation.
