April has flown by. Sister Ruth gave a beginner pastel half-day workshop for me and a few friends at the studio in Jackson.
Lots of helpful information - she brought different papers as well as her pastels for us to play with. Landscape show
from Birdman was taken down and remaining work was dispersed. Art work was put up at Oschner Clinic on Bluebonnet, new
work taken to Elizabethan and Main Street. Sadly, I have decided to pull out of the Covington Gallery 421. I just
can't seem to get over there to work the space as I should. For May and June, I am participating in Mayflower Artists
Gallery, a co-op at the corner of Mayflower and Napoleon, Beauregard Town, Baton Rouge. I am fortunate to have these
opportunities, however, I am feeling a bit pulled and longing to have some quality paint time.

I hope the viewer finds a measure of the joy I feel while creating
a painting. Every work is a challenge and a learning experience. When I am frustrated with a painting, all I have
to do is find the fellowship of other artist or read the thoughts of the masters to understand that I am not alone, that every
artist follows the same path. Different grades and curves and side paths, but we all share the common desire to create
and communicate through our paintings.
